It all started when Vinay Kothari, on a trek through the Western Ghats, discovered locally made jackfruit bars. What began as a simple craving turned into a powerful idea — to build a brand that celebrates India’s authentic, rural snacks and takes them to a global audience. That spark gave birth to GO DESi, co-founded by Raksha Kothari and led by Vinay as Founder & CEO.

GO DESi is more than a snack brand; it’s a movement rooted in community. Every win is credited to the passion and dedication of farmers, akkas, and rural entrepreneurs. The brand believes capitalism should not be a zero-sum game, but a system that empowers and gives back to the communities that make it possible.

Today, GO DESi employs over 250 rural women, ensuring that 40% of the value consumers pay goes directly back into the rural economy. This impact-driven model has become the backbone of the brand’s success, proving that business growth and social responsibility can go hand in hand.

The company’s philosophy is simple: team players over individual brilliance. Ideas and projects are shared across the organization without hierarchy, creating a culture of collaboration and inclusivity. This approach has allowed GO DESi to innovate continuously while staying true to its mission.

From jackfruit bars to a growing portfolio of desi-inspired snacks, GO DESi has built a reputation for authenticity, quality, and nostalgia. Each product is a reminder of India’s rich food heritage, crafted with care and designed to connect people to their roots.

The brand’s journey is also about redefining how rural entrepreneurship is perceived. By creating opportunities for women and small-scale producers, GO DESi is building a sustainable ecosystem that uplifts communities while delivering delicious snacks to consumers.

For Vinay and Raksha, the vision goes beyond food. It’s about creating a brand that stands for trust, empowerment, and authenticity. Every bite of a GO DESi snack carries the story of rural India, its people, and its traditions.

Looking ahead, GO DESi aims to expand its reach further, bringing more desi flavors to global markets while continuing to strengthen its rural partnerships. The brand’s promise remains clear: authentic snacks, sustainable growth, and a future where communities thrive together.
