Kofi Kafi, founded by Vaibhav Arora and his childhood friend Vansh Mor, is a Delhi-based coffee startup on a mission to make premium coffee accessible to young Indians. Built around a grab-and-go model, the brand is challenging the belief that quality coffee must come with premium prices.
The idea was born during the founders’ college years while working on branding and marketing projects. As regular coffee drinkers, they often spent hundreds of rupees daily at premium cafés. This experience made them realize that many students and young professionals wanted good coffee but found existing options too expensive.
Determined to solve this problem, the duo invested their entire savings of ₹3 lakh and launched Kofi Kafi on June 11, 2023, from a customized coffee cart in Rohini, Delhi. With limited resources but a clear vision, they focused on serving quality coffee at prices people could afford.
Since professional coffee machines were beyond their budget, the founders started with traditional hot beverage machines commonly used at Indian weddings. Using high-quality instant coffee and keeping prices between ₹50 and ₹85, they quickly gained customer attention and built steady daily sales.
The strong response encouraged them to take the next step. In November 2023, Kofi Kafi opened its first permanent outlet in Kamla Nagar and upgraded to commercial espresso machines, allowing customers to enjoy freshly brewed bean-to-cup coffee at affordable prices.
What sets Kofi Kafi apart is its lean operating model. Instead of investing in large café spaces with seating, the brand operates compact takeaway outlets. This approach keeps rental costs low while enabling faster service and better affordability for customers.
The company has also built a strong connection with Gen Z through bold blue branding, street-inspired aesthetics, hip-hop events, running club collaborations, and community-driven experiences. Kofi Kafi aims to be more than a coffee brand by creating a culture that resonates with young consumers.
Today, Kofi Kafi operates five outlets across Delhi, serves over a thousand customers daily, has sold more than five lakh cups of coffee, and generates nearly ₹20 lakh in monthly revenue. With plans to expand aggressively across key markets, Vaibhav Arora and Vansh Mor are working towards a future where choosing coffee becomes as natural and accessible for young Indians as choosing chai.
