House of Avi is unique in its approach:

  • It serves men, women, and transgender individuals, ensuring inclusivity in design and fit.
  • It even caters to swimmers, offering specialized footwear solutions.
  • Products are available exclusively through their website, ensuring direct-to-consumer quality control.
  • Every pair is customized mathematically for size and weight balance, reflecting precision and care.
  • The brand is fully sustainable, using eco-conscious materials and processes.

The Founder – Avi Kumar

Avi Kumar’s journey began with his own struggle to find well-fitted shoes while living in Australia. What started as a personal frustration evolved into a mission-driven enterprise: to end “footwear exile” — the exclusion faced by millions worldwide with larger builds or unconventional sizes.

His vision is clear: to make inclusive footwear mainstream, not an afterthought. By combining sustainability, craftsmanship, and inclusivity, Avi has positioned House of Avi as a global leader in footwear innovation.

Landmark Collaboration – Tanya Herbert

In a historic move for India’s footwear industry, House of Avi onboarded Tanya Herbert, Guinness World Record holder for the largest female feet, as its Brand Ambassador.

  • Tanya’s right foot measures 33.1 cm (US size 18), and for years she struggled to find feminine footwear options.
  • House of Avi changed that by offering her stylish, size-appropriate shoes.
  • Today, Tanya actively champions the brand, advocating for body positivity and inclusivity in fashion.

This collaboration symbolizes House of Avi’s mission: to serve those overlooked by mainstream footwear brands.

Breaking Industry Norms

While most global brands cap women’s footwear sizes at US 10–12, and Indian manufacturers rarely exceed size 14, House of Avi offers sizes up to US 20. This makes them the world’s largest standard footwear size range manufacturer.

Their philosophy: large sizes are not rare, they are part of the core inventory.

Craftsmanship & Innovation

Every pair of House of Avi footwear is:

  • Handcrafted by Indian artisans – blending tradition with modern design.
  • Durable and comfortable – built for long-term wear.
  • Innovative – standout products include Avircazz, a hybrid reinterpretation of Spanish Avarca sandals, “Indianized” for local needs.

Behind each shoe lies the skill of artisans who bring patience, precision, and passion to every stitch.

Global Reach

Though rooted in India, House of Avi has gained traction worldwide, with demand from Australia, US, UK, Germany, France, and beyond. Their lean business model and direct-to-consumer approach have helped them scale sustainably.

Why House of Avi Matters

House of Avi is more than a footwear brand—it’s a movement for inclusivity and sustainability. By offering stylish, size-appropriate shoes for all, they challenge industry norms and prove that Indian craftsmanship can lead global conversations in fashion.

As Avi Kumar puts it: “With an Indian soul, wide sole, House of Avi is now ready to take on a global role.”
