Founded in 2018 by Saket Dave and Krishnan Kasturirangan, with Jaggi Nadig as Director, Wastelink is a Delhi-based company pioneering the upcycling of surplus food into high-quality animal feed ingredients. By combining proprietary processing with AI-enabled supply chain technology, Wastelink is tackling one of India’s biggest challenges: food waste.

Globally, one-third of food produced goes to waste, and in India, the figure is nearly 40% of total production. Wastelink was born out of the conviction that this waste could be transformed into value — delivering nutrition to livestock while reducing environmental impact.

The company has already processed 35,000+ tonnes of surplus food and reported ₹27 crore revenue in FY25. In 2025, Wastelink raised $3 million from Avaana Capital to expand capacity, invest in R&D, and grow exports, signaling strong investor confidence in its circular food system model.

Wastelink’s feed formulations cover every life stage across cattle, poultry, aqua, swine, and pets. Over 4,000+ tons of feed ingredients have been consumed by producers and farmers across India, helping them realize better yields from high-quality inputs.

Bakery materials such as breads, cakes, and biscuits are particularly effective. Rich in energy and highly palatable, they have proven to increase yield by 15% when introduced into animal feed. This demonstrates the tangible benefits of upcycled nutrition.

The company’s work is not just about economics — it’s about rethinking food waste. Millions of humans and livestock go hungry while food is discarded. Wastelink’s model shows that circular food systems are both a business case and a climate solution.

Yet challenges remain. Farmers must trust upcycled feed as much as conventional maize and soya. Wastelink is working to build that trust through science, transparency, and consistent results, proving that sustainability can also mean profitability.

Looking ahead, Wastelink is building the infrastructure to make upcycled animal feed mainstream — helping India reduce food waste, stabilize feed costs, and create a more resilient agricultural ecosystem.
