For many consumers, choosing between healthy food and tasty food often feels like a compromise. Tanushree Singh and Reema Rathore wanted to change that. As nutrition scientists and passionate food enthusiasts, the co-founders of Bazic set out on a mission to create products that combine taste, nutrition, and clean ingredients without forcing people to sacrifice one for the other.

The idea behind Bazic was born from a simple observation. Food labels were becoming increasingly difficult to understand, filled with ingredients and additives that many consumers could not recognize. The founders believed that food should be made with real ingredients, free from unnecessary chemicals, while still being delicious enough for people to enjoy every day.

Both founders brought a strong academic foundation to the venture. Originally from Lucknow, Tanushree Singh moved to Rajasthan for her master’s degree and later completed government-funded research on Bajra, or pearl millet. A Gold Medalist and National Fellowship recipient in Foods and Nutrition, she has worked as a dietician, researcher, lecturer, and nutrition professional across different parts of India.

Her co-founder, Reema Rathore, brings equally impressive expertise to the table. Born and raised in Rajasthan, she holds a PhD in Food Science and has authored multiple research publications. Reema leads agricultural operations and sourcing for Bazic, working closely with farmers to improve cultivation practices and ensure access to high-quality ingredients. Her experience spans research, academics, consulting, and hands-on agricultural partnerships.

Together, the founders turned their knowledge of nutrition, agriculture, food science, and food technology into a consumer brand. Their first products include millet-based cookies that are gluten-free, free from trans fats, and made without hidden sugars. By using traditional grains such as jowar, ragi, and bajra, Bazic aims to bring nutrient-rich ingredients back into everyday snacking habits.

What makes the brand unique is its focus on both health and transparency. Every ingredient is carefully evaluated not only for its nutritional value but also for its impact on taste. The founders believe consumers should never have to choose between flavor and well-being. Through clear labeling and honest communication, Bazic encourages customers to make informed food choices.

The company’s commitment extends beyond consumers and into the farming community. Bazic works closely with marginal farmers, sourcing key ingredients directly from them and supporting cultivation through carefully selected seeds and agricultural guidance. This approach helps ensure better quality raw materials while creating stronger relationships between producers and consumers.

Looking ahead, Bazic wants to build a future where food is both people-friendly and planet-friendly. By combining agriculture, Ayurveda, nutrition science, and sustainable food technology, the founders are creating products that support healthier lifestyles while reducing environmental impact. For Tanushree Singh and Reema Rathore, Bazic is more than a food brand. It is a movement to prove that healthy eating can be simple, transparent, and truly enjoyable.
