Primebook, co-founded by Chitranshu Mahant and Aman Verma, is India’s first Android-based laptop designed to empower students, self-learners, creators, coders, and early professionals. It brings deep-tech innovation into everyday ambitions, making computing smarter, faster, and more accessible.
The journey began in 2018 under Floydwiz Technologies Pvt. Ltd., with a mission to make computing truly accessible to India’s youth. What started as an engineering challenge has grown into a movement to level the digital playing field.
At the heart of Primebook lies PrimeOS, a custom operating system built on Android and purpose-designed for laptops. It combines the simplicity of Android with the power of a PC, offering full-screen apps, keyboard and trackpad support, multi-window multitasking, and a desktop-style file manager.
The ecosystem is expansive, with over 50,000 apps available via the Prime App Store. Features like cloud PC access, an in-built AI assistant powered by Gemini, global search, and beginner-friendly coding tools like PrimeCoding make Primebook a versatile platform for learning and creation.
Primebook also supports keymapping for mobile-first apps and games, ensuring that entertainment and productivity coexist seamlessly. It’s a laptop that adapts to the diverse needs of India’s digital-first generation.
Recognition has followed quickly. Primebook has won Editor’s Choice: Most Useful Gadget for Students from DEVICENEXT, ranked No. 2 Laptop Brand Under ₹20K on Flipkart, and earned awards for innovation and brand building at national entrepreneurship forums.
The brand has also been named among the Top 500 SMEs of the Year by India 5000, cementing its place as one of India’s most promising deep-tech ventures. These accolades highlight both the product’s impact and the vision behind it.
For Mahant and Verma, Primebook is more than a laptop. It is a declaration that accessible, intelligent computing can transform lives. With every milestone, they are proving that India’s youth deserve tools built for their future — and they’re just getting started.
