Meera, founder & CEO of Avaan India & founder of Affordable Art with a Heart TEDx Speaker

Meera, an accomplished leader and TEDx Speaker, brings decades of experience in logistics and service industries. She was instrumental in building Gati into one of India’s most admired logistics brands and is also the only woman entrepreneur to successfully commission a 110 MW hydel power project in Sikkim.

Her vision for Avaan goes beyond logistics. Raised in Sikkim, she is deeply committed to creating opportunities for youth from Northeast and rural India, offering upskilling and employment in a secure, professional environment. Avaan is not just a company — it’s a platform for empowerment.

The company’s flagship innovation, Avaan Excess, has already won the Best Innovation Startup Award from ET Now and was recognized among the 10 best Hyderabad-based women startups in 2022 by Silicon India. By combining affordability with reliability, Avaan is making global travel stress-free.

Meera’s journey is multifaceted. Beyond logistics, she is a philanthropist, artist, and author. Through her foundation Affordable Art with a Heart, she promotes differently-abled children and budding artists, while also supporting Lepcha Cottage in Sikkim and Kinder Trust in Coonoor.

Her leadership has been celebrated with awards including the Woman of Worth Award at the World Women Leadership Congress, ET Inspiring Women Leaders Award, and the Women Achiever Award from MSME. Her TEDx talk further amplified her vision of innovation, empowerment, and sustainability.

As an author, Meera has penned two coffee table books — “Mystic Shangrila” and “An Ode to Sikkim” — both tributes to her childhood and youth spent in the Northeast. These works reflect her deep connection to culture and her storytelling spirit.

Looking ahead, Avaan India’s mission is to transform the future of travel and logistics by being the world’s most trusted solution for effortless baggage and package delivery. With unmatched affordability, reliability, and customer experience, Avaan is setting new benchmarks in global logistics.
