Co-founded by brothers Vikash Kumar (IIT Delhi postgraduate) and Rahul Vashukhi (NIFT graduate), Minus Degre is an impact-driven startup from Bihar that is revolutionizing how India tackles plastic waste. What began during the 2020 lockdown with a ₹6,000 oven and handmade earrings has now grown into a company recycling 10 tons of plastic waste every month and supplying eco-friendly products to global brands.

From BMW, Tata Motors, Adidas, and IDFC Bank to the Rashtrapati Bhawan souvenir shop, Minus Degre’s recycled sheets and products are proving that waste can be transformed into premium, long-life materials. Their reach now extends beyond India, with exports to the USA, Germany, Canada, and Singapore, showcasing the global demand for sustainable design solutions.

Bootstrapped to a turnover of ₹1.25 crore, Minus Degre supports 30+ scrap vendors and employs a skilled workforce, creating dignified livelihoods while tackling India’s plastic waste challenge. Their work directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — from climate action to quality education and green livelihoods.

The company manufactures 100% recycled and 100% recyclable materials, with no virgin plastic and no greenwashing. Their product range includes Eco-Panels, outdoor benches, recycled medals, souvenir kits, and corporate gift hampers, all designed for durability, performance, and purpose.

Minus Degre’s mission is clear: to give plastic a second life. By intercepting waste before it reaches landfills or oceans, they transform discarded packaging and industrial plastic into functional, beautiful products for retail, architecture, and everyday use.

Their localized recycling approach reduces CO2 emissions and simplifies logistics, while renewable energy and zero-footprint manufacturing ensure sustainability at every step. Guided by the philosophy of “think globally, act locally,” Minus Degre is embedding recycled plastic into the circular economy of every region it touches.

The startup’s vision is bold: to lead the global movement in transforming plastic waste into sustainable value. They aim to make recycled plastic panels the norm in architecture and design, enabling eco-conscious businesses to replace harmful materials with sustainable alternatives.

At its core, Minus Degre stands for a minus — less waste, lower emissions, and reduced environmental harm. With every sheet produced and every space transformed, the company demonstrates that plastic waste can be part of the climate solution, not the problem.
