👶 PyaraBaby: A Marketplace for Sustainable Parenting

PyaraBaby was created to solve a very real problem faced by parents in India: baby products have a short lifespan. Cribs, strollers, toys, and clothes are often used only for a few months before children outgrow them. This leaves families with expensive, barely-used items that often go to waste.

Founded in February 2022, PyaraBaby connects parents across India to buy and sell pre-loved and new baby products. The platform has already built a community of over 23,800 parents nationwide, making it one of the fastest-growing marketplaces in the parenting segment.

🌱 The Founder: Apurva Rungta

PyaraBaby was founded by Apurva Rungta, a mother and entrepreneur based in Panchkula, Haryana. Her inspiration came from personal experience: while packing away her daughter’s cradle, she realized it had been used only 10–15 times despite costing ₹9,000.

This moment sparked the idea of creating a marketplace where parents could give baby products a second life, reducing waste and helping other families access affordable essentials.

Apurva’s background includes:

  • Corporate Marketing Manager at CHERESO (Chemical Resources) since 2014.
  • Education from King’s College London, which gave her exposure to global business practices.
  • Entrepreneurial drive to build PyaraBaby as a community-first, sustainability-driven brand.

Her vision is to make PyaraBaby a trusted parenting hub where affordability, sustainability, and convenience meet.

📈 Growth and Impact

PyaraBaby has seen over 300% annual growth, with revenue skyrocketing by 341% year-over-year. This reflects strong demand for sustainable parenting solutions in India’s booming e-commerce sector.

Key highlights:

  • Wide product range: cribs, strollers, toys, clothes, feeding accessories, and more.
  • Affordable access: parents can buy quality items at a fraction of retail prices.
  • Sustainability: reducing waste by extending the lifecycle of baby products.
  • Community-driven: fostering trust among parents through verified listings and safe transactions.

🛒 Availability

PyaraBaby operates primarily through its website and marketplace listings, and also sells curated products via platforms like Amazon India.

🌟 Future Outlook

With India’s parenting market expanding rapidly, PyaraBaby is positioned to become a leading sustainable e-commerce brand. Its focus on community, affordability, and eco-consciousness aligns with the growing demand for mindful consumption.

Apurva Rungta’s journey shows how personal experiences can spark impactful ventures. By turning her frustration into innovation, she has created a platform that not only helps parents save money but also contributes to a more sustainable future.
