Born on July 23, 1999, in Jaipur and raised in Chhattisgarh, Neha Byadwal’s childhood was marked by both challenges and determination. She faced academic setbacks early on, including failing in Class 5, but instead of letting this define her, she used it as motivation to push harder. Her family’s support and her own inner drive helped her rebuild confidence and set her sights on one of the toughest exams in India—the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Neha pursued her higher education at IIT Kanpur, where she completed her B.S. and M.S. in Economics. Her academic journey at one of India’s premier institutions gave her both intellectual rigor and exposure to diverse perspectives. It was here that she began to seriously consider a career in the civil services, driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to society.

🚀 The UPSC Struggle

The UPSC Civil Services Exam is known for its unpredictability and difficulty. Neha’s journey was no exception:

  • She attempted the exam four times.
  • Faced three failures before finally succeeding.
  • In her fourth attempt, she secured All India Rank 569 in 2022 at the age of 24.

Her preparation was marked by extraordinary discipline. Neha took a three-year hiatus from mobile phones and social media, choosing to eliminate distractions and focus entirely on her studies. This sacrifice became one of the defining factors in her success.

As part of the 2022 batch IAS officers, Neha was allotted the Gujarat cadre. Currently, she is serving as a Joint Magistrate in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, where she is involved in administrative responsibilities that directly impact people’s lives.
